Photog and Marker Portraits

Friday, July 17th, 2009

Get a huge piece of plexy glass or glass and dry erase markers. Then set up a camera and take self portraits w/ me drawing my feelings over my face. Or some type of alterations to my image. Or try to make myself look like a child.

Repeat the process and have my friends come over for their portraits taken, with me doing the plexy glass illustrations and image alterations.

Bald Women

Friday, May 29th, 2009

Draw a series of portraits of women I know. The pics should show people looking guarded and insecure and to emphasize the feeling and display an attempt to let go of societal pressures, I will remove their hair.

Create a animated video with a variety of stop motion stills and collaging of various colors and old photographs. Abstract yet filled with motion. Use the Daniel Johnston song “Somethings Last A Long Time”.

Self Portraits of Dualism

Sunday, February 1st, 2009

I had the idea today of creating self portraits based on different external characteristics that
I imagine defines different contrasting sides of my personality. The main distinction is that which is emotional and that which is mindful.

On one side there is a person dressed up in a tie, heavy with responsibility, and tied up with the infinite permutations of perceptions of the other. On the other hand, there is the baggy, sloppily dressed person who is dirty with paint and grease, carefree lounging around, letting time fly completely unaffected by anything that isn’t emotionally grabbing.
